Alarm Monitoring Communications Options
Amherst Alarm has several ways to monitor your alarm system.
1. Standard monitoring - via a traditional phone line.
2. Anet Secure monitoring via Amherst Alarm's own private radio network. This form of monitoring is accomplished by means of a radio transmitter that can be added to most alarm systems. No phone line is necessary but a traditional phone line can be used in conjunction with the radio to provide 2 paths of communication to Amherst Alarm.
3. Anet Secure monitoring via a GSM cellular radio transmitter. This is primarily used outside of our private radio network coverage area. This form of monitoring is accomplished by means of a cellular radio transmitter that can be added to most alarm systems. No phone line is necessary but a traditional phone line can be used in conjunction with the radio. If a traditional phone line is used your alarm will communicate to Amherst Alarm using the phone line. It will communicate to Amherst Alarm via the cellular radio if the phone service is out.
4. Internet monitoring. This form of monitoring is accomplished by means of an internet communicator that can be added to most alarm systems. No phone line is necessary but a traditional phone line can be used in conjunction with the radio to provide 2 paths of communication to Amherst Alarm.
5. AES: Smart Long Range Wireless -AES-IntelliNet is a direct wireless link between your alarm panel and Amherst Alarm monitoring response center. It was originally designed to protect Americans living overseas in the less developed regions, where local infrastructure could not support traditional methods of alarm reporting. AES-IntelliNet's reliable, adaptive design provides many benefits and communicates without telephone lines, without dedicated repeater sites and in harsh environments.
