Security Systems Offer More than Protection from Burglary |
by Matt Hoffmeister |
| What comes to mind when you think about the main function of your security alarm system? Usually the primary and most important reason people have a security system in their home or business is protection from burglary. An Amherst Alarm security system can do much more than offer burglary protection. |
| Consider the some of the potential problems that can occur in your home or business: fire, sump pump failure, flood or water leak, carbon monoxide buildup, medical emergency, furnace or air conditioning failure, natural gas leak. With the addition of sensors or detectors, Amherst Alarm can monitor for these hazards 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. |
| An Amherst Alarm security system can also be enhanced with several convenience features such as lighting control, heating and cooling control and wireless keys. Consider the following scenario: You arrive home after dark. Approaching your home, you use your wireless key to disarm your security system. The security system then activates various lights around your home and turns up the thermostat. |
| With the addition of a few components, many Amherst Alarm security systems can offer such convenience to your home or business. |

The ESL 240-COe Alarm is the only industrial-grade Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarm specifically developed for use in a monitored home security system. The unit is designed to the same standards as CO sensing systems used to protect workers in industrial plants and hospitals. The ESL 240-COe alarm’s high reliability makes it an ideal solution for both residential and commercial life safety systems. |

The Cellar Saver is a device that is designed to detect rising
water inside a sump well where there appears to be a pump failure. The concept is simple. Rising water
captures the air inside the inverted cup called the 'Float' that is attached to the bottom of the 'Swing-arm'.
The swing-arm rotates on a 'center pin' and moves a magnet away from a contact on the upper end of the Cellar Saver. |
